Our Literary Translation Process
Step one:
Primary Linguist Selection
During this phase, we will sample test all of the literary translators within our database whom we have worked with in the past. We will ensure that they have experience working within your genre, and are native speakers of the target language. From this selection of linguists, we will share a sample excerpt from your book, and we will ask each linguist to translate the selected excerpt into the target language. Once we have a collection of samples from qualified linguists, we will share the samples with a certified reviewer, who will select the two best samples from the pool. From this, we will assign both a primary translator, and a post editor for your project, who will be responsible for reviewing and making edits to the primary linguists work.
Step Two:
Project Management and Review
At the end of each day, we will take a report from both the linguist and the post editor, to ensure that the translation is going smoothly and that they are in agreement with the edits that are being made. We will ensure cohesiveness between the two parties, and we will take regular updates from our certified reviewer in order to ensure that the final translation output is flawless.
Step Three:
DTP Formatting
Once the translation and post edit phases are complete, we will pass the translated work along to our expert formatting team. They will be responsible for creating the final deliverable in your desired format, whether that is a print ready PDF file, ePub file, txt file or any other format that you may desire. We will also ensure that any images in your book are properly translated and inserted into the final deliverable.
